Answer:

Sending system test messages is important for ensuring that your agency is prepared to create and send Nixle alert messages quickly and efficiently, and also to confirm that messages are able to be received via text, email, web message, and voice dialing.

When sending a test message, be aware of the following:

• Unless modified, test messages expire 30 minutes after being sent.
• "Note: this is a test message. Please disregard." will be inserted at the beginning of the message.
• Test messages are only available for alert message types.
