Uploading an IPAWS Certificate

To add an Integrated Public Alert & Warning System (IPAWS) certificate to a Nixle Agency, follow the steps listed below:

Keystore Text File Example
  1. Unzip the IPAWS certificate to access two files:
    1. The .jks file which is the certificate.
    2. The .txt file which contains the private key and keystore password on one line.
Keystore Text File Fixed
  1. To avoid confusion, insert a new line before key to separate the two values, as shown in the image to the right.
Nixle Account Settings
  1. Log in to agency.nixle.com.
  2. Click the My Account button from the upper-right hand side of the page.
  3. Click Account Information at the top of the page.
  4. Click on the IPAWS Settings link.
Nixle IPAWS Settings
  1. Upload the .jks file by selecting the Choose File button.
  2. Enter the COG ID.
    1. The COG ID is the numerical value in the .jks file's name.
  3. Enter the Keystore Password.
    1. Using the example above, the Keystore Password is t2st#0000.
  4. Enter the Private Key.
    1. Using the example above, the Private Key is 0000aaa#aBa.
  5. Select the Certificate Type.
    1. Click Live Certificate when appropriately provided by FEMA.
    2. Click Test Certificate when appropriately provided by FEMA.
  6. Click Validate.

Getting the IPAWS COG Profile

To view the channels available for the COG profile, follow the steps listed below:

Nixle Account Settings
  1. Log in to agency.nixle.com.
  2. Click the My Account button from the upper-left hand side of the page.
  3. Click the Account Information at the top of the page.
  4. Click the IPAWS Settings link.
Get COG Profile
  1. Click Get COG Profile.
Enter Private Key
  1. Enter the Private Key.
  2. Click Validate.
COG Profile

View the COG profile and available channels.
