Subscribing to Nixle publications

There are multiple ways to subscribe to Nixle. Residents can register via:

Unsubscribe from Nixle

There are multiple ways a resident can unsubscribe from Nixle:

  • Unsubscribe from text messages from all ZIP codes and keywords by texting STOPALL to 888777 and following the prompts.

  • Click the unsubscribe link found at the bottom of a Nixle email notification.

  • Adjust account settings by logging in at https://local.nixle.com/login/.

Re-subscribing to Nixle publications

To re-subscribe to Nixle publications, please follow these steps:

  1. Log in to the account at https://local.nixle.com/login/.

  2. Select the Settings tab from the right-hand side.

  3. Check the checkboxes for the publishers desired to receive notifications from.

  4. Select Save.

Adding an email address to Nixle via SMS

It is possible to add an email address to a Nixle resident profile via SMS, by following the steps below: 

  1. Send an SMS message with the word "email" to 888-777 to first verify if an email is registered.

  2. After receiving a response, reply with an email address to receive email publications.

Receive publications from unwanted agencies

When registering to receive alerts with a zip code, there may be overlap from a neighboring city or other agency.
In order to stop any overlap of unwanted publications, follow the steps below:

  1. Login to https://local.nixle.com/login/.

  2. Click on the Settings tab.

  3. Click on the desired zip code on the left-hand side of the page.

  4. De-select the checkboxes next to the desired agencies to unsubscribe from.

  5. Click Save.

Unable to Join Group with Passphrase

Text nixle.clear to 888777, this will clear the history, and you can then text the passphrase again.

Not receiving SMS publications

SMS delivery issues are caused by any of the following:

  • Registered with the incorrect number

  • Carrier blocking short code

  • SmartPath

  • Number has not been opted in for SMS messages

  • New Cell Provider
