What's New in Nixle 22.06: Enhancements to NWS Rebroadcast Settings

Agencies will now be able to select the list of FIPS Codes for which their subscribers should receive NWS Rebroadcasts. This will help limit the amount of rebroadcasts received by subscribers who aren't actually located near the specified weather event, which happens when an impacted FIPS Code had a small overlap with the agency jurisdiction.

This new setting can be found under Message Center > Rebroadcasts > FIPS Codes. Any FIPS Codes that overlap with the agency will be shown here.

NWS Alerts that contain at least one of the agency's selected FIPS Codes will be rebroadcasted to subscribers of that specified agency.

The FPS Codes selection will apply to each type of NWS Alert:

Warnings
Advisories
Watches

Note that if no FIPS Codes are selected for an Agency, then subscribers of that Agency will not receive the NWS Broadcasts, regardless of settings in other areas (like NWS Warnings, NWS Watches, and NWS Advisories). If this happens, then the user will be met with a warning after selecting Save.
