Nixle: Creating a Message Widget

How can our agency's website show a list of our current Nixle messages on it?

NOTE:

The Nixle message widget will only show the ten most recent messages sent to the Nixle Wire group.

Adding a Nixle message widget is an effective way to drive website visitors to register for Nixle alerts. Follow these steps to create a message widget:

  1. Log in to the agency at agency.nixle.com
  2. Choose Message Center from the menu bar
  3. Choose Message Widgets from the sub-menu bar
  4. Choose Create New Message Widget

  1. Enter a Widget Name
  2. Select the desired message types for the widget to display by checking the checkboxes
  3. Set the Widget Height and Widget Width
  4. Choose the color scheme for the widget by clicking the following icons:
    1. The Widget Headline Color Icon icon (Headline text color) sets the color for the group name text
    2. The Widget Secondary Color Icon icon (Secondary text color) sets the color for the text in the top and bottom border of the widget
    3. The Widget Header/Footer Color Icon icon (Header/footer background color) sets the color for the top and bottom border of the widget

  1. Choose a color by clicking and dragging the mouse in the primary color square on the left-hand side
    1. A specific hex triplet can be entered in the # field
    2. The RGB and HSB values can be adjusted by either clicking and dragging the Color Level Grabber icon up or down, or by entering a number in the value field
    3. The color spectrum column can be adjusted by sliding the Right Point CarrotLeft Point Carrot level up or down
  2. Click outside of the color square to apply the selected color to the widget
  3. Choose Preview Widget to view how the widget will appear on the website
  4. To make any additional changes to the widget, choose Edit Widget
  5. Choose Save Widget and Generate Code to access the HTML code for the widget
  6. Copy and paste the code for the widget into the website's HTML
