Improvements to Existing Features
Product Area | Feature | Improvement | Benefit(s) to You |
Publications | Geographic Filtering - Custom Area | Publications to Custom Areas in Geographic Filtering will now default to include Residents who have opted-in to your selected group(s) and have not provided their zip code or location. By default, they will not be excluded by the geographic filtering. Should you wish to only include contacts with a location saved in Nixle, there is an optional checkbox to enable that, so that residents who have not supplied their zip code or location will not receive your geo-targeted publication (previous default behavior). |
This change to the default setting and available options will help ensure that you can easily reach all the Residents you intended to reach in your geo filtering, while continuing to give you and your residents controls over the target areas to receive the publication and setting their location in their Nixle profile. For most publications, you will not need to do anything differently while setting your custom area. If you wish to by-pass the default, there remains the optional checkbox for "Only include contacts with a location saved in Nixle". This option is at your discretion to limit a publication's reach. Note: Custom Area geo filtering is a feature of the Nixle 360 plan. To purchase this plan, please contact your Account Manager. |
Nixle Platform | All | Nixle implemented many significant security & stability improvements with this release. Including enhancements to the Web App Firewall, ensuring no vulnerability to Log4J, security & OS updates, enforcing secure webpage loads, and continuing to ensure stable IPAWS delivery. | Nixle will continue to remain stable and secure for all your alerting needs. |
Defects Corrected in this Release
Product Area | Feature | Defect | Case Number(s) |
Publications | NWS Rebroadcasts | In this specific use-case, NWS Rebroadcasts may not be received if residents opted-in by keyword to the Agency's Nixle Wire, and never provided their zip code. Nixle has been changed, so that NWS rebroadcasts targeting the Nixle Wire will not reach Nixle Wire Keyword-based opt-ins with or without zip code provided. | 211050716 |
Publications | Voice Calls | In some cases, a portion of the voice calls selected may not have been attempted or delivered. In a few cases, entire groups selected for voice calls were not attempted. This has been corrected so that all intended voice calls are attempted. | 221061522, 221065898 |
